Book Review: Cookie by Lisa Woomer

Cookie
"Once upon a time, not so long ago, there was a girl named Cookie. Well, actually, her name was Catherine Isabelle Marie Jenkins, but everyone just called her Cookie."

So begins this children's book about a little girl who only ate cookies. She ate them for every meal and refused to try anything else. Broccoli, spaghetti, or fish were definitely out. Her parents warned her that if she didn't stop with the cookies, she'd turn into one. She laughed. Until one day, she did.

Cookie is a fun book that I'm sure that kids and their parents will enjoy. The illustrations are very well done and fun, and the narrative is even better. Inside the playfulness of the book is a message of nutrition and the book opens the door to talk about nutrition with kids.

  2. Aww..kind of makes me wish I still had a little kid to read this to. And no grandkids yet either. I doubt my youngest child at almost 14 would like to sit on the couch with me and let me read this to her...bummer.....
