Giveaway of Supreme Courtship by Christopher Buckley

Here's another great Hatchette sponsored contest! Thanks to Valerie and Hatchette Book Group, we are giving away 5 copies of Christopher Buckley's Supreme Courtship. Interested?

About the Book, courtesy of the publisher:

President of the United States Donald Vanderdamp is having a hell of a time getting his nominees appointed to the Supreme Court. After one nominee is rejected for insufficiently appreciating To Kill A Mockingbird, the president chooses someone so beloved by voters that the Senate won't have the guts to reject her -- Judge Pepper Cartwright, the star of the nation's most popular reality show, Courtroom Six.

Will Pepper, a straight-talking Texan, survive a confirmation battle in the Senate? Will becoming one of the most powerful women in the world ruin her love life? And even if she can make it to the Supreme Court, how will she get along with her eight highly skeptical colleagues, including a floundering Chief Justice who, after legalizing gay marriage, learns that his wife has left him for another woman.

Soon, Pepper finds herself in the middle of a constitutional crisis, a presidential reelection campaign that the president is determined to lose, and oral arguments of a romantic nature. Supreme Courtship is another classic Christopher Buckley comedy about the Washington institutions most deserving of ridicule.

  1. I strongly dislike Prime Minister Stephen Harper from Canada. I don't trust him at all; he reminds me of a used car salesman. As well, any man who cannot hug or kiss his daughter as she heads off to her first day of elementary school (even with the press watching) makes me question how much he would really care about his country.

  16. I used to, if not like, respect Hilary Rodham Clinton despite her healthcare snafu, but now I can't even respect her. I think she acted like a bratty, spolied child when Bill Clinton assisted in getting the American journalists freed from North Korea. She could have acted like the proud wife and used it to her advantage, instead she acted like a bratty, jealous crybaby woman. ick. And then there was that other thing she cried about while campaigning. Yeesh.

Thank you for a great giveaway!

  17. Oh, do I have lots to say about our Premier Dalton McGuinty. This guy is useless! So many scandals under his liberal leadership. The most recent is wasting BILLIONS of our dollars on the ehealth program. Thank you for letting me vent and thanks for this giveaway. I'd love to read this book.

  27. I don't feel strongly about any politicians and here is why. It is hard to feel strongly opposed or for someone you can't trust or be sure of their intentions. Nearly all of them lie, and even though most have atleast a few good ideas, they don't often go through with them. I was hoping for Huckabee in the last presidental election but that didn't happen. Now I'm going to hope Sarah Palin gets elected in 2012. She seems, notice I say 'seems' because you can never be sure with politicians, like a smart, independent, and strong individual who could run our country. Plus that woman knows how to handle a gun. :P

  28. I really disliked Bill Clinton. After all, Hilary was mainly the one who ran things up there while Bill was coining the phrase, "Paying under the table" and trying to convince everyone,"I did not have sexual relations with that woman!"
